Russia appoints Zakriyev as CEO of Danone Russia
MOSCOW, Jul 19 (PRIME) -- The Federal State Property Management Agency has appointed Yakub Zakriyev, deputy prime minister and agriculture minister of the republic of Chechnya, as CEO of dairy product maker Danone Russia, as seen by PRIME in the materials of the Unified State Register of Legal Entities late on Tuesday.
On July 17, President Vladimir Putin signed an order transferring stakes in Danone Russia and beer brewery Baltika into temporary management of the Federal State Property Management Agency from the foreign companies.
The agency also appointed Taimuraz Bolloyev, the founder of Baltika, as its president after terminating a contract with Denis Sherstennikov.
Danone said in October 2022 that it planned to transfer control over its Russian assets, and market sources told PRIME in February 2023 that the company chose around 20 contenders for them, including Russian agricultural holdings and the Arab and Chinese investors.
Carlsberg Group announced sales of its Russian assets, including Baltika in March 2022, and said in February 2023 that it planned to sign the agreement until mid-2023. In late June, the company said it had finished the search for a new investor and that the Russian subsidiary will continue operating as usual until the deal is signed.
